About the event

On Wednesday 25th May, from 5pm to 7pm, Devonshire Square will be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by hosting in its atmospheric Western Courtyard a FREE-to-attend evening of dance that will take attendees on a virtual journey across UK, through the magical power of traditional folk dance and music.

Organised and curated by Devonshire Square’s Events Team, the programme includes the participation of some of the finest Irish dancers in the world, such as the multiple World Medal Holder Se O’Toole and Great Britain Champion Eva Jane Moss, both presented by The Brooks Academy of Irish Dancing, a prestigious dance school established 50 years ago by the late John Brooks to promote the art form in London, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. The school, now led by John’s children, has enjoyed success at all the major international competitions.

Her Majesty’s love for Scottish dances will be honoured with a show of beautifully executed Highland fling dances by “The Scottish Highland Dance Wonders”, a troupe of outstandingly talented Scottish dancers who have performed in some of the most prestigious venues in UK and featured in various international TV productions.

“The Scottish Highland Dance Wonders” will also present a Scottish lyrical performance to the notes of “Auld Lang Syne” and “Flower of Scotland”, and will be introduced by the hypnotic music of a bagpiper and an enthralling traditional Sword dance performance.

The elegance of English ballet will be exquisitely represented by a Jubilee-themed choreography created for the occasion by former English National Ballet soloist dancer and choreographer Jenna Lee and performed by professional ballerinas from renowned London-based creative company JLee Productions.

Attendees will be treated to a complimentary tasting experience of delectable canapes by Devonshire Square’s iconic Indian restaurant Cinnamon Kitchen, and a selection of Jubilee cocktails created by Devonshire Terrace’s mixology artists, such as the irresistible “Taste of Luxury” and the refreshing “Royal Summertime”.

The event is FREE to attend, however registration by emailing frontdesk@devonshiresq.co.uk is strictly required as availability is limited.
