Come on and join Wild Science where you get to meet a range of incredible mammals, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates where you can learn from your presenter how the animals work and spend some time with them in a quiet calm setting. The animals you encounter will be unique, unusual and very engaging. The open drop-in format means you can come and go anytime and there's no pressure on anyone to engage at a fixed moment, everything is completely opt-in and at each person's own pace. Come along and hold some interesting animals and take some time away. Bring friends or come along and meet new ones.

As part of CU Coventry's Welcome Events Programme, we are hosting a Murder Mystery themed games event.

This event is free for all students to attend, studying at all Coventry campuses, and is a great way to meet others studying at CU Coventry.

You will be grouped into small teams, and each be given a different mystery to solve. You will be given various clues and hints, to solve the case.

Sofar Sounds Comes to Square One!

Experience the magic of Sofar Sounds as the global live music phenomenon arrives at Coventry University Students' Union this September.

Since launching in 2009, Sofar Sounds has hosted thousands of intimate, secret gigs in over 400 cities worldwide, including London, New York and Berlin. Every event features incredible emerging artists in unique venues, creating unforgettable live music experiences.

Sofar has helped launch the careers of artists including Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, Hozier, James Bay, Bastille, Teddy Swims, Olivia Dean, Leon Bridges, JP Cooper and many more. Who will you discover?

Expect an evening featuring three incredible artists, a welcoming atmosphere, and the chance to meet fellow music lovers. The lineup remains a surprise until the night itself, although you can follow @sofarcov for a few hints before the event.

Changing our Articles

As a Students' Union, we want to continue to ensure our services evolve to meet the needs of our student members. As a charity, we have objects that define what we are aiming to do, work on or achieve for our members, and all activity we undertake must link to these.

As an organisation, we have recently taken over delivery of the Sports Centre and other associated sporting facilities, based in Coventry. As such, Your SU is proposing a change to our objectives listed in our Aricles of Association, (a legal document that defines an organisation's regulations, structure, and responsibilities), to incorporate these new responsibilities.

As we are an organisation led by, and for, students, it is important that we also consult with our members on this change. All students are invited to attend this meeting, taking place online via Microsoft Teams, to discuss these changes and to ultimately vote to decide whether you believe these changes are in the best interests of our students.

The proposed changes to the articles are listed below.

Section 2 around Objects currently states:

'The objects of the Union are the advancement of education of Students at Coventry University Group for the public benefit by:

2.1 promoting the interests and welfare of Students at Coventry University Group during their course of study and representing, supporting and advising Students;

2.2 being the recognised representative channel between Students and Coventry University Group and any other external bodies; and

2.3 providing social, cultural, sporting and recreational activities and forums for discussions and debate for the personal development of its Students'

The proposed changes to Section 2 around Objects would mean a change in articles to:
