Aims and objectives

1. We aim to provide emotional, spiritual, academic and social support for the Muslim students on campus.

2. We aim to ensure students have a suitable place to make ablution, observe the daily prayers, and to pray the Friday Prayer.

3. We aim to build and maintain a positive, transparent relationship between the University and its Muslim students.

4. We aim to help educate the wider community on the true essence of Islam.

5. We aim to show that our members are a positive influence and example during their time at university.

6. We aim to work on projects throughout the academic year, such as Charity Week and Islamic Awareness Week, whilst also promoting Islamic talks and activities throughout your time at university.

What do we do

1. Organise fun events for our brothers and sisters to attend and enjoy (Follow us on Instagram to keep updated!)
2. Weekly and occasional Halaqahs & Islamic lectures are done by different speakers on various topics where you can further your understanding of Islam.
3. Brothers weekly football event.
4. Brothers & Sisters Social Nights (held separately) - where you can socialise, play games and meet new people.
5. Members only chat for early-access to events, behind the scenes content and more perks on the way!

Targets for the Year 2024/25

1. Bring the Community Together

• Display banners to raise awareness.
• Conduct anonymous surveys to gather feedback and thoughts.
• Set up a monthly stall to engage with students.
• Tackle  gender divisive ideologies through lectures and social nights while promoting individual accountability.
• Organize sports activities:
  • Brothers: Basketball, Football
  • Sisters: Basketball, Volleyball

2. Help People Get Closer to Allah

• Host regular lectures on spiritual and practical Islamic topics.
• Offer Educational Programs to deepen Islamic understanding.
• Organize Brothers’ and Sisters’ Qur’an classes for structured learning of recitation and understanding of the Qur’an.

3. Provide a Place of Refuge

• Create a safe and welcoming space for students to find support, no matter where they are on their spiritual journey.

4. Promote Islamic and Worldly Education

• Hold at least one lecture per month and ensure Qur’an classes are available for both brothers and sisters.
• Provide insightful career guidance through guest lectures, workshops and more to help students' transition from study to career life be as smooth as possible 

5. Contribute to the Global Muslim Ummah

• Organize Charity Week and other volunteering initiatives to raise funds and support important causes affecting the Muslim Ummah, starting with local community efforts.

6. Establish a Mentorship Program

• Develop a mentorship program using platforms like Vygo or an in-house system to provide academic and spiritual guidance.

Membership Fee
Membership for the society is £2 for the whole academic year
