This honour recognises student groups that go above and beyond to offer meaningful, inclusive, and enriching experiences to their members. And the Law Society has done exactly that — and more.

🎯 Aims that Go Beyond the Course

The Law Society’s goals aren’t just about law. In fact, they’ve built a welcoming and inspiring environment for all students, whether they study law or not.

Their mission is to:

  • đŸ‘„ Create a strong student community
  • 🎯 Inspire career ambitions
  • đŸ€ Foster friendships, support networks, and professional development

They’re committed to creating inclusive spaces where students can thrive socially, academically, and professionally — no matter their background or course.

🌟 What Drives Their Success?

The Law Society isn’t new to recognition — they’ve also received awards like Society of the Month and Best Society from the College of Business and Law. So what’s the secret to their continued success?

Here’s what they shared:

  • Member involvement is central — students regularly advise on events, speakers, and activities
  • Volunteering culture — members step in to help at major events and form real friendships through the society
  • Collaborative leadership — the committee works together as one team, not isolated roles
  • Strong communication — they balance one another’s strengths and adapt based on what the society needs.

They also take initiative by seeking additional training, developing their skills, and staying professional while still being personable.

đŸ’Ș Skills That Set Them Apart

The committee spoke passionately about the skills they’ve gained through their roles:

  • Leadership — recognising strengths and weaknesses, trying new approaches, delegating effectively, and asking for help when needed
  • Cooperation & Communication — essential when working with partners, volunteers, and one another to make things happen
  • Time Management — balancing tasks, meetings, and society goals while staying consistent and open about their progress

Their mindset: “You are the community — this is a chance to connect with people.”

👀 What’s Next?

The Law Society has more plans in the works for the next academic year — from career events to collaborations and guest speakers. Keep an eye on their society page or follow their social media to stay in the loop.

💬 A Message to Other Societies

“Don’t underestimate what you can learn and achieve together. Use your roles to grow your skills, connect with your members, and build something meaningful. That’s where the real reward is.”

🎉 Huge congratulations again to the Law Society for this outstanding achievement — your efforts truly shine!
