FUNdraiser Fest

Seven Coventry University societies including Art Society, WES, WhatNext? Coventry, Windband Society, Criminology Society, Debating Society and Politics Society have all come together with the aim of supporting mental health, a topic at the forefront of conversations for students surrounding the pandemic. Therefore, they are putting on an event called FUNdraiser Fest to raise money for two mental health charities, PAPYRUS and Involve Coventry. In addition to, allowing students to come together for a night of fun and creating meaningful connection in these trying times.

The FUNdraiser Fest will take place on May 7th at 7pm-late on Zoom! There will be a whole bunch of different activities including inspirational speakers, comedic and musical performances, games, a raffle and much more! Registration is free and can be found through this link – here.

PAPYRUS  (https://www.papyrus-uk.org/) is a nationwide mental health charity that specialises in suicide prevention in young people. They provide confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide through their hotline, HOPELINEUK (0800 068 41 41). They engage with communities and volunteers in suicide prevention while delivering training programs to individuals and groups. They aim to change national social policy and implement national suicide prevention strategies where possible.

Involve Coventry (https://www.involvecoventry.com/) , formerly known as AIMHS is a Coventry based mental health charity that has been working for well over a decade, supporting people in both one to one and in group settings, providing free training, facilitating peer support and offering opportunities for people to be involved and work towards co-production. They also link in with local and national campaigns which challenge the stigma associated with mental health,  (Time to Change), regionally, they represent Coventry's Mental Health stakeholders on a variety of forums which influence service provision in the West Midlands.
