We are beyond thrilled to share some incredible news with all of you! The Art Society has been awarded Society of the Year and Best College of Arts & Societies Society, marking a historic achievement for our community. These awards are not just titles; they are a testament to the dedication, creativity, and passion that each and every one of you has contributed to this society.
As President since 2023, I have had the privilege of working alongside an outstanding committee – our Treasurer - Awais Khan, Inclusion Officer - Diloniya Ponraj, and Events Coordinator - Charlotte Chung – and together, we have poured our hearts into making this society a vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring space for all students. Winning these awards is not just about recognition; it is about celebrating the countless hours spent planning events, fostering creativity, and building a community where every member/student feels valued and encouraged to express themselves.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all our members and non-members – past, present, and future – for your unwavering support, nominations, and trust throughout this academic year. Your enthusiasm and engagement are what fuel this society, and without you, none of this would be possible. Every art workshop, social gathering, and creative session has been a reflection of our collective passion for the arts, and seeing this effort acknowledged is an incredibly proud moment for us all.
This achievement is also a reminder that passion and dedication, even in unpaid roles, have the power to create meaningful impact. The joy of seeing our efforts appreciated by the student community is a reward in itself, proving that when we put our hearts into something, it can truly make a difference!!! ♥
A special, huge thank you goes to Lucy Hollings and Tree Dickens, driven and passionate members who have always been there to support and uplift the society. Their dedication and enthusiasm have played a key role in fostering the inclusive and creative spirit that defines our community.
~ On a personal note, I would have loved to be there to celebrate this momentous occasion with all of you. Unfortunately, as I am currently abroad, I couldn’t join in person, but my heart is truly with you all. I hope you are celebrating together, as you all deserve it, and, although things might change in the future, I cannot wait to reconnect and continue our journey of creativity and community!
Lastly, we also want to express our appreciation to the other societies we’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with this year, as well as our coordinators Jane, Emily and Bobbie, and the guest speakers who have shared their expertise and inspiration with our members. These collaborations have enriched our events and strengthened our community. Finally, a big congratulations to all the other nominated and shortlisted societies, - your hard work and passion have made a remarkable impact, and we celebrate your achievements alongside ours!
We hope this inspires each of you to continue pursuing your creative journeys, to believe in the value of your contributions, and to know that your hard work does not go unnoticed. This is a victory for all of us, and we are so excited for what the future holds for the Art Society!
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey – here’s to more creativity, connection, and celebration!
With gratitude and pride,
The Art Society Committee
