We are overjoyed to share a proud and unforgettable moment for our community – Indian Society at Coventry University has been awarded the
Best International and Cultural Society at the Activities Awards Ceremony 2025!🏆

This prestigious recognition celebrates the dedication, warmth, and cultural vibrance that every single member of our society has brought to life throughout the year. It reflects the collective effort of our passionate committee, our enthusiastic members, and our wider community who made every event meaningful and every initiative impactful.

As President, I have had the honour of leading with wonderful committee members— Inclusion Officer – Vishal and Treasurer officer– Haswanth who worked with dedication throughout this journey.

I also express my gratitude to our society member and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to uphold our vision of making every Indian student feel at home in Coventry. Special thanks to Riya who participated in all society events and captured all memories, Vishal and Piyush for always coming up with wonderful ideas for all events and helping in event promotions, Aryaman and Rashmi for unwavering support during events, Ishwarya and Sanchi for taking responsibility of event planning and their creative contributions, Rishav, Abdullah and Nazeela for always providing best advice, and finally Anurag for bringing enthusiasm in all events. Together, we committed ourselves to creating a diverse, inclusive, and festive environment, where our culture could not only be celebrated, but also shared.

Throughout the year, we hosted a rich programme of events that celebrated Indian traditions while building bridges across communities. From the grandeur of the Rang Mela – Holi event, epic Republic Day celebration, various Games and chill meetups and Indian Society stalls at fair to our collaborations with societies for Meet and Greet event, Sip and Paint event and many more — every moment has been crafted with purpose, energy, and community spirit.

This award is a tribute to all the volunteers, performers, committee members, and attendees who gave their time, talents, and hearts to our mission. Whether you helped us organise an event, danced on stage, designed a poster, shared our reels, or simply showed up — this is your win too💛

I also want to express heartfelt gratitude to the Coventry University Students’ Union (CUSU) and staff for their ongoing support, and to student officers - Christopher, Promise, Akhil and Odudu, our coordinator- JaneEmily and Bobbie for supporting us in each step of event and activities. A special shoutout to Punjabi Society and Hindu Society with whom we worked closely — building unity through diversity.

This recognition is not just about what we’ve achieved, but about what we’ve built — a second home, a support system, and a cultural family for Indian students in the UK.

On a personal note, I am deeply proud of how far we’ve come and filled with excitement for what’s ahead. We’re not just a society; we’re a movement of tradition, talent, and togetherness.

To all societies who were nominated or shortlisted — congratulations on your amazing work! Your contributions make our campus beautifully diverse and alive with spirit.

To our members — thank you for believing in us, supporting our journey, and keeping our culture alive far from home. Here’s to more growth, laughter, music, and memories ahead! 🌟

With pride and gratitude,
Indian Society President
