Hello lovely people! My name is Annabelle Taylor (she/her/hers), your new Campus Officer. I am going into the first year of my course, Adult Nursing. Last year I did a foundation year for nursing. I’m very excited to take on this role, helping to improve the university and student experience for everyone.

Here are 3 key points from my manifesto that I will be working on:

  • Welcoming of new students
I am very passionate about ensuring new students feel included and welcomed when arriving at a place they may not be familiar with. It can be very daunting starting university. I want to ensure everyone has easy access to services we offer by making an information sheet to hand out with links right to the services.
  • Outside events
I would love to host some outside events such as a walking group or a beach day to allow different students to meet each other in a relaxed setting. My vision with outside events is that it will improve mental health and shown more of Scarborough to those not from here.
  • Improving academic feedback
There is a struggle in receiving academic feedback compared to wider feedback such as the café. I want to help improve the response of academic feedback by doing drop-in sessions where students can come and directly speak to me about feedback.
