Buying Online
When making a purchase from or via Your Students' Union for any product, including joining clubs and
societies (membership fees), payments will be processed through Sage Pay, a division of Sage (UK) Ltd, and
Streamline Merchant Services.
We do not store credit card details unless with your consent and we use industry standard SSL encryption
to ensure the safety of your data.
All payments are made in a live environment - upon clicking 'Pay Now', your credit or debit card will
be billed with the agreed amount and your order will be immediately processed.
Once your order has been completed, you should receive a confirmation email from mail@cov.ukmsl.net to your
message centre inbox on the Union website. This can additionally be viewed at a later date by viewing the
'Purchase History' section of the website.
To edit the email address this receipt is sent to, click on the 'My Contact Details' link when logged
into the site.
In order to process your purchase you consent to Your SU collecting, storing, using, processing and
transmitting your personal data. On occassion this will mean passing data onto affiliated
companies, subcontractors and contractual parties, in order to process your data solely for the purpose of
confirming purchase and redemption. Furthermore, you consent to Your SU sending you information about the
services purchased until you actually withdraw your consent to receive such information.
These terms shall be governed by English law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English
Courts. Nothing in these terms shall exclude liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.
Ticket Refunds
Your Students’ Union offers tickets for a range of directly operated activities. Your Students’
Union also operates a service platform for tickets to be sold by affiliated organisations and partners. All
tickets will be subject to their individual terms and conditions listed on check out and purchase.
Tickets for events organised by one of the Union’s Sports Clubs and Societies are excluded from Your SU
terms and conditions. However purchasers should be entitled to the refund eligibility listed below as these
are statutory requirements.
All tickets sold by us are non-transferrable and refunds shall be reviewed on a case by case basis taking
into account whether you fall into any of the eligibility criteria set out below. Eligibility criteria does
not guarantee that you will receive a refund but allows you to better understand our policy. All decisions
by the Union on refunds are final and not open to discussion.
Refund Eligibility
You shall be eligible for a full refund, of the value of the ticket when purchased, in the following
circumstances:
- The event has been cancelled by the Union and/or in conjunction with an affiliated promoter or
organiser.
- The event has been rescheduled by the Union and/or in conjunction with an affiliated promoter or
organiser.
- The event has been relocated to an alternative venue and the new venues capacity is below that of the
original venue and when you arrived capacity was reached.
Product Refunds
All products sold by Your Students’ Union (‘the Union’), either online (through its
purchasing platform) or at one of its business sites, are subject to the following terms and conditions.
Please Note: these terms and conditions only cover the Unions products and does not cover
products sold through third parties. Third party products will adhere to their own terms and conditions.
All product refunds shall be reviewed on a case by case basis taking into account whether you fall into any
of the eligibility criteria set out below. Eligibility criteria does not guarantee that you will receive a
refund but allows you to better understand our policy. All decisions by the Union on refunds are final and
not open to discussion.
Eligibility for Refund
You may be eligible for a full refund of a product, at the value you purchased the product, under the
following circumstances:
- If the product arrives damaged or is the wrong product. This is on the condition that you return the
product within 14 days of requesting a refund.
- If you request a refund within the cooling off period and you ordered the product online. This cooling
off period shall be 14 days starting the day after you purchased the product. You must return the
product within 14 days of requesting the refund. The cost of returning the item will be at your cost and
will not be reimbursed by Your SU.
- If you no longer want the product but the product is what you ordered and is inside the cooling off
period (if ordered online). This cooling off period shall be 14 days starting the day after you
purchased the product. You must return the product within 14 days of requesting the refund. The cost of
returning the item will be at your cost and will not be reimbursed by Your SU.
Eligibility for Replacement
You may be eligible for a replacement of a product under the following circumstances:
- Product is not the product that you ordered. On condition that you have not worn the product and it is
returned within 14 days.
- Product is the wrong size. On the condition that you have not worn the product and it is returned within
14 days.
- Product is damaged. On the condition that you have not worn the product, can evidence the damage and it
is returned within 14 days.
Not eligible for a refund and/or replacement
You are not eligible for a refund and/or replacement under the following circumstances:
- Product is personalised or custom-made to your order
- Product is something that deteriorates over time.
Membership Refunds
All memberships sold for Your Students’ Union (‘the Union’) groups, either online (through
the Unions purchasing platform) or at one of our business sites, are subject to the following terms and
conditions. This applies to any purchase of membership to our Sports Clubs, Societies, Communities and the
Union as a whole.
Please Note: these terms and conditions only cover the purchase of membership and does not
cover any equipment or other products you purchased in addition to your membership.
All memberships are non-transferable and refunds shall be reviewed on a case by case basis. All memberships
shall automatically expire at midnight on the 31st July following your membership purchase,
unless otherwise stated when you purchased the membership.
Refund Eligibility of Membership
Your entitlement to a full refund shall be decided by the Union. You are only entitled for a full refund in
the following circumstances:
- You cancel your membership within the cooling off period. This cooling off period shall be 14 days
starting the day after you purchase your membership.
Any refund requests after the cooling off period means that you are no longer entitled to a full refund but
may receive refund under the following circumstances:
- If the Student Group is disbanded during your term of membership. This is at the discretion of the Union
who will also take into account the funds left when the Student Group disbanded. This will be decided on
a case by case basis by Your SU’s Executive Committee.
You will relinquish you eligibility to a refund under the following circumstances:
- You have been removed by the Student Group following a complaints process.
- You have been removed by the Union following a complaints process.
- You are no longer a full member of the Union due to you being removed as a Student of Coventry
University following a University disciplinary process.
Any memberships that are refunded shall go back on sale where memberships are limited for those on a waiting
list, if applicable, or the Unions members.
Refund Eligibility of Annual Subscriptions
You are required to purchase either a ‘Society Annual Subscription’ membership product or
‘Sports Annual Subscription’ membership product in order to purchase a Society or Sports Club
membership.
You will be entitled to a full refund under the following circumstances:
- You purchased the subscription and you did not purchase a Student Group membership within the cooling
off period. This cooling off period shall be 14 days starting the day after you purchased your
subscription.
- You purchased the subscription in addition to a Student Group membership but have cancelled your
membership within the cooling off period. This cooling off period shall be 14 days starting the day
after you purchased your subscription.
You will not be eligible for a subscription membership under the following circumstances:
- You were a member of an appropriate Student Group, for that subscription type, when the subscription
cooling off period ended.
- You are still a member of an appropriate Student Group for that subscription type.
All refunds for subscriptions are at the discretion of the Union and its decision shall be final and not open
to discussion.
Delivery
We aim to have all deliveries in the post within 1 week of order.
We will make every effort to deliver your order within the time estimate however, this is an estimate, and
delivery within the time quoted cannot be guaranteed. If the goods are not delivered within the time we have
estimated, please feel free to contact us and we will try to resolve the issue
promptly.
We will not be liable for any loss caused to you by late delivery over the estimated provided.
Please note that we do not dispatch goods to PO Boxes and reserve the right to cancel any order. We cannot
deliver to any address without a post code [zip code].
Non Delivery
It is the buyer's responsibility to notify us if the goods have not been received within 28 days of the
estimated delivery date or receipt of our invoice. We use surface mail for overseas orders so please allow
for this when you order.
If no notification is made within this time period the buyer shall be deemed to have received the goods.
