Activities Awards

This award recognises a volunteer who has excelled within their role, has embedded core SU values into their work and has made a difference to other's lives through their volunteering.

This award recognises an individual or group who have gone above and beyond to enhance the experience for members of a community. This could include hosting campaigns and events, conducting change-making research and being an ally to community members.

This award recognises a society which has gone above and beyond for their members, demonstrated commitment to creating a thriving community of students and ran a variety of events. The best business and law society will also have represented the SU’s values throughout their activity.

This award recognises a society which has gone above and beyond for their members, demonstrated commitment to creating a thriving community of students and ran a variety of events. The best engineering, environment and science society will also have represented the SU’s values throughout their activity.

This award recognises a society which has gone above and beyond for their members, demonstrated commitment to creating a thriving community of students and ran a variety of events. The best society from the college of arts and society will also have represented the SU’s values throughout their activity.

This award recognises a society which has gone above and beyond for their members, demonstrated commitment to creating a thriving community of students and ran a variety of events. The best health and care society will also have represented the SU’s values throughout their activity.

This award recognises a faith society which has developed an inclusive and welcoming faith-based community amongst students. The best faith society will have run a diverse programme of events throughout the academic year and worked together as a committee to improve their members’ experience.

This award recognises an international or cultural society which has developed an inclusive and welcoming international or cultural community amongst students. The winning society will have run a diverse programme of events throughout the academic year to celebrate and introduce others to their culture and worked together as a committee to improve their members’ experience.

This award recognises a music or performance society which has gone above and beyond to create great experiences for their members, demonstrated development and progression and represented the SU’s values.

This award recognises a special interest society which has gone above and beyond to create great experiences for their members, delivered a wide range of events and socials and provided the opportunity for their members to meet other students with similar interests.

This award recognises a society which has made the most progress in the development of their society. The winning society will have improved the experience of their members, worked to deliver the aims and objectives of their development plans, and increased their bank balance and membership numbers.  

This recognises a group of students who have demonstrated the most commitment to working together to lead their society. They will have shown commitment to improving the experience of their members, to working as a team and to developing their society to leave it in a better place than when they took it over.  

This award recognises events or achievements from individuals and groups that have exceeded expectations. From planning to delivery and reflection, the best achievement of the year will have had a memorable impact on its target audience and will empower the SU values of being helpful, ethical and inclusive.

This award recognises students responsible for planning a successful, collaborative event. This could be a collaboration with other societies, communities, or external organisations. The winner of this award will have had a positive impact and embodied the SU values of being ethical, helpful and inclusive.

This award recognises a society whose committee has demonstrated the most dedication to running their society by delivering varied and highly successful events. The Society of the Year will have grown their membership and bank balance from the previous year and will have won a Society of the Month award this year.
