About the event

Welcome all newcomers and current members! I'm your president (Reece) and will be hosting this event to get things kicking off for this year. Hope to see you there! wink

If you'd like to attend, say   'I am attending'  on the society E-mail:      aerospace.su@uni.coventry.ac.uk

Time: Tuesday, 23rd September   |   3pm-4pm

Location: Likely will be room EC1-29, yet to be verified.

What are we doing?

This event will go over future activities that will be happening over the upcoming year. We'll discuss the potential for a society rocket programme 🚀, future simulator sessions 🕹️, society trips 🏭, and much more. This will also be the first of many times members will have a say in the future of the society. After the short presentation and discussion (15 minutes), the majority of the rest of the event will be a team building engineering challenge (35 minutes) where you will get into teams and attempt to make a rubber band propelled airplane! All materials will be included at the event so only bring yourself. At the end, each team will demonstrate their airplane, and the one that travels the furthest wins.

Food

Water, lemonade, coke, and simple snacks will be offered during the event.

Disability Access

The event will likely be on the second floor, however the Engineering & Computing building has an elevator. The room is accessible for wheelchair users.

Below I've attached an example image of a rubber band plane and a youtube video showcasing a large version of the ones we're going to make, enjoy!
