What is Sigma?

Sigma is Coventry University’s mathematics and statistics support centre. They know maths and stats anxiety is real and are here to help anyone who may need it. Through Sigma you can access experienced tutors who will deliver support with numbers and statistics through a method that suits your learning style. From a casual drop-in, to one-to-one assistance by bookable appointment, to focused workshops – they have it all. Sigma also provide specialist resources like books, videos and worksheets, to aid in independent learning. All support is free.

Can Sigma Help Me?

Sigma is here to help anyone on any course who may have a maths or stats related problem. From foundation level to postgraduate research – if you are a Coventry university student, they've got you covered. It doesn’t matter if maths and statistics are a daily part of your course, or a bit of a surprise requirement for a particular project.

Students get support from Sigma over a whole range of courses, nursing to engineering, business to psychology…and everything in between. With Sigma you can always expect a friendly welcome, support adapted for you and a space to ask whatever you need. The end of March can be a very busy time, so if you think you may need support (even if your deadline isn’t right away) we strongly recommend that you contact Sigma as soon as possible so you can get the very best out of what they can offer you.

How Can I Get in Touch with Sigma?

- If you’re Coventry-based, feel free to drop in to the support centre on the ground floor of Lanchester Library anytime between 10am-5pm Monday to Thursday, and 10am-4pm on Friday.
