This paid student staff role allows you to support one of our community groups across all campuses. The successful candidate will lead on community projects and events and represent the wider community at core university meetings.
What is a Community Engagement Lead?
Community Engagement Leads are paid part time student staff responsible for representing the members of their community. They will attend SU, University, and external meetings to help shape the experience of members within the community.
Community Engagement Leads will lead on key projects, campaigns and events directly relevant to their community.
This role would begin on 1 July 2025 – 31 July 2026

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Working collaboratively with Your Students’ Union staff to improve the student experience for the community you represent
- Champion the voice of the community at the Community Executive Committee, SU and university meetings
- Lead on the enhancement of inclusion and access improvements to Your Students’ Union for students within the community
- Work with students and staff to plan and deliver activities and campaigns on topics relating to the community
- Be a key stakeholder in the SU delivery of the community’s proactive activity and relevant awareness events and initiatives
- Work in partnership with other Community Engagement Leads to ensure all engagement lead activities and campaigns are accessible to the community
- Chairing the community meetings
- Work with relevant societies linked to the community

- We are a National Living Wage employer and you will be paid the National Living wage (£12.21 per hour) + holiday pay
