The vote to elect your student leaders is open for 48 hours from 12pm GMT (midday) on Tuesday 10 February to 12pm GMT (midday) on Thursday 12 February.
Voting is easy, and can be done quickly online by following these steps:
- Once voting opens, head to yoursu.org/vote. This link will open in a new tab and select 'cast vote'
- You can then view the different roles you’re eligible to vote for and the candidates running for each role, along with their photos and manifestos
- Click the ‘vote’ option and then ‘start voting’. This will take you through each role that you can vote for, in order.
- We use a Single Transferable Voting system, which means you can choose multiple candidates for a role (if you want to!) in order of preference. For example:
William may be your first choice candidate for Sports Officer, but you may also want to list Mateusz as your second choice candidate, and Lucy as your third choice candidate. You can select as many, or as few, preferences as you like.
- Once you’ve listed all the candidates you want to vote for in order of preference, and you’re happy with your selection, simply cast your vote.
- You can then move on to the next role

Voting eligibility
All students are eligible to vote for the four, full-time officer positions: Welfare, Education, Sports and Activities.
However, you will only be eligible to vote for the part-time officer role that represents you. For example, if you’re a student studying Law at the Coventry campus, you will only be able to vote for the College of Business and Law Officer. If you study in Scarborough, you will be able to vote for the CU Scarborough Campus Officer and if you study in London, you will be able to vote for the London Campus Officer related to your site of study.
If you find that you are unable to vote for a role that you think you should be able to, please email elections.su@coventry.ac.uk with the following information and one of the team will look into this for you:
- Your full name
- Your Student ID Number
- Your university email address
- The course you study
- The location/campus you study at
What happens next?
Results will be announced on Friday 13 February, after the votes have been counted.
We can't wait to see who you choose to be your next student leaders!
As always, if you have any questions about the election or have any issues placing your vote, please contact: elections.su@coventry.ac.uk so we can help.
