New Peer Mentoring Opportunity

University can be exciting, busy, and a little overwhelming – and you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. A peer mentor is another student who’s already navigated many of the same challenges and can offer honest, down‑to‑earth support. If you’d value a friendly regular check‑ins to talk through study habits, confidence, routines or just how uni is going, our new 6‑week peer mentoring opportunity could be a great fit.

Are you looking for a bit of extra support as you navigate university life? Want to chat with someone who understands your experience and can offer practical guidance? We’re recruiting 12 mentees to take part in a 6‑week peer mentoring opportunity and we’d love you to join us.

What is Peer Mentoring?

Our peer mentors are specially selected and trained students who can offer friendly advice, share their own experiences, and signpost you to useful services within the University. They’ll meet with you once a week for 6 weeks, checking in to support you in areas that matter most.

You’ll be able to focus on any of the following themes:

  • Settling in: campus systems, timetables, learning platforms
  • Time management & building routines
  • Study strategies & assessment planning
  • Navigating feedback & communicating with tutors
  • Belonging, societies & social confidence
  • Managing stress
  • Placement or internship readiness basics
  • Exam period preparation & support
  • Reflecting and planning for next semester

Why Take Part?

  • Build confidence and feel more connected
  • Receive personalised, peer-led support
  • Develop study and life skills
  • Gain clarity on academic and wellbeing resources available to you
  • Improve your overall university experience

How to Get Involved:

If you’d like to take part, simply express your interest by emailing phoenixplus@coventry.ac.uk with your name, course, year of study and the conversation themes you are most interested in exploring. Places are limited to 12 mentees, so early sign-up is encouraged.
