Student Voice Meetings are taking place this week, and they’re one of the most important ways your feedback shapes your course and wider student experience.
What Are Student Voice Meetings?
Student Voice Meetings bring student reps and staff together to review real feedback, talk through issues, and highlight what’s working well. The goal is simple: to make sure your feedback is listened to, understood, and acted on, even if changes can’t happen straight away. These meetings help improve teaching, communication, and the overall learning experience across each school and course area.
Only student reps can attend these meetings. They gather feedback from classmates, represent their views in discussions, and work with staff to find solutions that make a real difference. If you’re not a rep yet, this is your chance to get involved.
You Said We Did: Real Changes from Your Feedback
Here are just a few examples of positive changes that came from past Student Voice Meetings:
Physiotherapy – Staff changes and module contacts
You said: There was confusion around staff changes and who to contact when module leaders were away.
We did: A clear update was posted on Aula explaining contacts for the affected module, with reassurance about staff changes and the value of learning from different experienced physiotherapists.
Allied Health Professions – Recording lectures
You said: Students wanted lectures to be consistently recorded.
We did: Educators were asked to record all lectures, and the course director is monitoring uploads to ensure this happens. Practical and seminar sessions remain unrecorded due to their interactive nature, but slides and summaries are provided.
UG Business, Leadership, and Management – Online lectures
You said: Online lectures felt unengaging and less effective.
We did: Staff agreed to reduce online classes in Semester 2 so students have more in-person sessions.
These improvements happened because student reps raised them at Student Voice Meetings — and staff took action.
Only student reps can take part in Student Voice Meetings. If you want to represent your classmates and help shape change, you can become a rep (or find out who your reps are) here:
