Freshers Week

For our Fresher's Week, the Christian Union held a multitude of different events, ranging from Park Games to Quiz Night to Scavenger Hunts around Coventry City Centre to welcome along new and existing students to the society and provide the perfect environment to meeting new people at university

QUIZ NIGHT

Our Fresher's Week kicked off with a Quiz Night at the Faith and Spirituality Centre and the restarting of the Christian Union ahead of the 2022/23 academic year. The event provided an entertaining night full of suspense with the quiz being decided on the final round of questions. Overall was fantastic to see both returning and new students come along and enjoy a chill night 

PARK GAMES

Following the quiz night was our Park Games event at War Memorial Park which seen classic park games, such as frisbee, football and rounders, being revived by adults to relive childhood memories

INTERNATIONAL CAFE

The 3rd event of the week was the International Cafe, held in Hillfields Church Coventry with tea, cakes and many biscuits being provided by the wonderful people from Friend's International who work with International students to help them settle in to a new country

ACOUSTIC NIGHT

The Christian Union and Acoustic Music Society collaborated for a very successful event at Esquire's Coffee Shop. The evening provided a night of relaxing and original music performed by the Acoustic Music Society and some members of the Christian Union also sharing their talents in music. The evening finished off with a testimony shared by Aiden on his life journey and his passion in sharing about God and Jesus

LAUNCH MEAL

On Friday night, we officially launched the CU ahead for this year with our Launch Meal, with over 30 people attending the evening and being provided free pizza and drinks

SCAVENGER HUNT

We finished our Events Week with our Scavenger Hunt where students raced across Coventry, ticking off the many different and difficult challenges set. The event finished with a meal at Wetherspoons which wrapped up Freshers 2022

EQUIP

Following our successful Fresher's Week, we resumed our weekly EQUIP meeting from the Faith and Spirituality Centre from 7pm to 9pm. Each week we meet up to have time to meet new people, build friendships but most importantly to come together to praise God
Each week is different with having guest speakers, prayer and worship nights and discussion time a few examples of weeks again
