Coventry University Students’ Union has hundreds of volunteering opportunities for you to get involved in. Throughout the pandemic this was mostly available online, but finally face to face volunteering is slowly returning to normal again.

We recently held our second volunteering fair on campus this academic year, with over 20 organisations attending talking to students about their charity and how your input makes all the difference to them.

Even before the pandemic, charitable organisations were finding it hard to raise money to keep their services going, and that is why our caring student volunteers played a vital role in keeping the charities afloat.

However, it’s not just the charities that benefit from your spare time, you do too. Volunteering provides benefits such as: the experience of working in a team where you can pick up vital transferable skills that could make you more employable upon graduation

  • Communication skills – when working with new people and often the general public
  • Allow you to apply for one of the CUSU Leadership Awards – there are three levels to the Leadership Awards: Bronze, Silver and Gold and these are given on the basis of how much you participate in various extra-curricular activities and the skills you have developed by taking part
  • It has a positive effect on your wellbeing, especially if you are new to the area and want to make new friends.

Whether you have a busy schedule or lots of free time, with hundreds of organisations and charities to choose from, we are sure you’ll find the perfect opportunity to match your skills.

If you would like to find all the current opportunities, then please check out the volunteering pages on the CUSU website
