With less than a week to go until the first BUCS Wednesday of the 24-25 season, find out what is BUCS and how to get invloved.
BUCS season is upon us, with Wednesday 4 October marking the first BUCS Wednesday of the year and is a chance for many of our sports teams to start making an impact on their respective leagues. With eight home games, there will be plenty of sporting action happening on campus, as well as five teams heading away to compete at other universities.
This time also marks the start of other sports activity as well. Some of our clubs don't compete in BUCS but will be competing in different leagues against other universities or hosting friendlies throughout the year. So make sure you keep up to date with incoming sporting activities across campus by following us on Instagram.
What is BUCS?
For those unfamiliar with BUCS or British Universities and Colleges Sport, it is an organisation that oversees competitive sports between universities covering over 50 different sporting disciplines. It sees universities nationwide compete in different leagues, cup games, and events throughout the academic year. These games typically happen on a Wednesday, hence the name BUCS Wednesday, and across the country, 1000s of students will come together to compete in different sports to try and be the best.
