What is a Your Course Conversation?
The purpose of a Your Course Conversation is to review all feedback that has been raised by students on your course. The aim is that feedback can be discussed and resolved at the meeting, and action points can be taken away by staff and SU Reps to find solutions to anything that can’t be fixed straight away. It’s also a space to raise positive feedback, so staff can see what’s really working for students and try and include more of it in your course, and for students to offer suggestions and requests for things that might work better.
Ultimately the aim of the meeting is to improve student experience and satisfaction, ensuring that any and all feedback is responded to in some way.
Who attends the meeting?
Your Course Conversations are open to all students studying that particular course. In this case, any student studying a Coventry University Pre-Reg Nursing degree (including those not studying in Coventry) are welcome to attend.
Also in attendance are Students’ Union Reps including Course Reps and Education Reps, who represent students on particular courses and across departments respectively, as well as a Students’ Union staff member who supports the meeting.
Finally, meetings are also attended by senior departmental staff such as Course Leaders and Directors.
What happens during the meeting?
A clear agenda is followed during the meeting. After brief introductions and and attendance logging, students will be offered the opportunity to provide feedback on both student services and academic matters by year group. Feedback will be discussed by attendees and also logged by the SU Education Reps, who will also take note of any actions to be taken away after the meeting. After all feedback has been raised, there is a space for any course-related announcements to be shared with attendees by staff.
What kind of feedback can I bring?
You can raise any feedback relating to your course or student experience. You might want to think about the following topics:

-
Ideas Drop-Ins
At CU Scarborough you can attend one of our twice-weekly Ideas Drop-In sessions. These are informal drop-in sessions where you can share feedback as well as ideas you have for anything you’d like to see, do, or change on campus. Usually these sessions take place on Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings in the ground floor seating area. You can find all upcoming Ideas Drop-Ins on the SU events page.
-
Postcard Feedback
You might see our feedback box on campus along with some feedback postcards. Pick up a postcard, fill it out, and drop it in the box. You can also pop by the SU office or an Ideas Drop-In to ask for a postcard.
-
Digital Feedback
You can share your feedback online through our digital feedback form.
All feedback is read, recorded, and reported to relevant staff. Feedback can be left anonymously, but by giving us your details we will be able to contact you with information about how we have responded to your feedback.
I have a question that isn’t answered here!
