Find out what your part-time officers got up to in April.
College of the Arts and Society - Layna Forbes
Hello students! I know the past month must have been challenging for students with assignments and exams, and some may still be doing these, but I hope you're proud of all your hard work and have been able to engage in some self-care activities alongside the academic commitments!
As for myself, as the College of the Arts and Societies officer, my April consisted of analyzing data for my Neuro-inclusive campus campaign and attending meetings to provide feedback on the student experience. I had a productive meeting with the Office for Students, where I was able to share the perspectives and feedback of the lovely students I've had the chance to speak with.
I am thrilled to have the chance to continue in my role for the upcoming academic year. It brings me immense joy to remain dedicated to creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all university members. I am committed to fostering a sense of community and belonging, and I am confident that my efforts will positively impact many individuals.

College of Engineering, Environmental, and Science – Christopher Eban
I am excited to provide you with an update for the month of April as your Part-time officer. Here are some highlights from the past month:
-
Rep recruitment: I'm happy to share that I've been involved in the recruitment of about 20 representatives across the university. Actively taking part in the preparations, interviews, and assessment of candidates for both the education rep roles and the school rep roles.
-
Meetings: In line with my manifesto, vis-a-vis to foster student engagement with the SU, I have participated in various meetings; particularly the Coventry Executive governance meeting, while representing the interest of students from the College of Engineering, Environment and Science.
-
Proposed Projects: I am trilled to share some upcoming projects in the works for the students of Engineering, Environment and Science. We are in the process of organizing a career workshop, scheduled for the month of May/June 2024. This workshop will equip you with essential skills and knowledge to enhance your employability prospects and better sharpen your career. I encourage all of you to participate and take advantage of this valuable opportunity.
-
I am also planning an intersociety competition to improve participation within the societies and create awareness of the activities of societies within our college.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you as your Part-Time Officer, I kindly encourage you to reach out to me with any suggestions, ideas, or concerns you may have. We can only create the desired inclusive learning environment if we all work together.
