What is Society Spotlight?
Each month the Societies team chooses 1 to 2 societies to 'spotlight' on social media and the SU page. These are societies that the activities team have noticed putting in considerable effort and dedication to their society events and making sure members get the most out of their membership. This could be for outstanding communication and social media usage, re-ocurring events, or one-off social and events that draw in new and existing members.
Novembers Society spotlight - Palestinian Society:
Palestinian society was adopted only in August of this year, with the committee meeting affiliation in October. Despite this the committee have been continously active and dedicated to creating a safe and educational space for their members.
So far they have run various events such as meet and greets, public speaking events, educational workshops and collaborative art events. The society does an excellent job at making sure there is a mixture of content for members to engage in, whether educational, political, or celebrating culture.
However, the committee have even more exciting events planned for next semester, such as more educational events, continued weekly socials, potential collaboarations with more societies and universities, and conferences.
Their next event will be on the 3rd of December and will be a social all about the rich history of Palestine. You can find when, where and how to attend the social here.
You can engage with the society by visiting their SU Page, where you can buy your membership or join their interested list, find links to their social media accounts, and even purchase merch.
