Global Majority Students

Students looking at the leaflets lying on the stall.

This community is for students that are Black, Asian, dual-heritage and/or students who have been racialised as ‘ethnic minorities’. We aim to offer a safe space to socialise and to meet other students with similar lived experiences and to bring positive change to their university experiences.

What would you like to achieve in your role this year?

This year, I aspire to celebrate and harness the incredible diversity within our global community at Coventry University. I envision our campus as a vibrant tapestry of cultures, where every student feels valued and heard especially and create a safe space for all. By fostering inclusive spaces for dialogue and collaboration, we can transform our differences into strengths and create a harmonious, dynamic environment, building a united and impactful global community.

Activities

Every year we celebrate Black History Month, acknowledging and celebrating the beauty and power of black culture. From fashion shows to panel talks we host a range of exciting events for everyone to get involved in. If you would like to be involved in planning or suggest an idea for Black History Month (October), please contact the Global Majority Students Community Engagement Lead or email community.su@coventry.ac.uk.
