As your Community Officer, I'm hosting a campaign competition as part of my manifesto project to encourage students’ participation in social change. I believe leading a campaign is a great way to make long-lasting meaningful change.
Who can participate?
All current students at Coventry University on the various campuses across the UK are encouraged to participate in this competition. You can find out more about previous campaigns and how you can get involved by reading the helpful guide we put together earlier in the year!
What can I campaign for?
The campaign should be for the enhancement of student experience at the university. It should have a clear change-making objective to be delivered over time. This could be a change in policy, process, resource or academic culture, for example, a change in the university’s new policy to close the library at midnight. More information on how to start a campaign.
How do I participate?
To participate, just submit a campaign request between Monday 20 January 2025 and 5pm on Wednesday 19 February 2025. Any student who submits a specific campaign idea that needs funding during this period will be automatically entered into the competition.
What is the Campaign Competition prize?
The total prize money is £100 which will be allocated to two winners. £60 is for the first prize winner and £40 for the second. The prize amount will be held within a budget code for the campaign and can be requested during the campaign planning and delivery.
How will the winners be selected?
The winners will be determined by a panel using the scoring criteria listed in the terms and conditions, and with the use of ‘SMART’ analysis. Panelists will include one Community Engagement Lead, myself as the Community Officer and one SU staff member. Learn about what makes a good campaign by reading my article, and understand the scoring criteria by visiting the full terms and conditions of this competition.
When will the winners be announced?
The winners will be informed by the end of February via email and announced on Your SU’s website campaign updates news. The funding is available until the end of the academic year (July 2025). Good luck!
