What is Society Spotlight?
Each month the Societies team chooses 1 to 2 societies to 'spotlight' on social media and the SU page. These are societies that the activities team have noticed putting in considerable effort and dedication to their society events and making sure members get the most out of their membership. This could be for outstanding communication and social media usage, re-ocurring events, or one-off social and events that draw in new and existing members.
December society Spotlight - Crafting society:
The Crafting Society at Coventry University aims to present new craft to their members every week, forming a creative and innovative environment where projects are produced. Crafting Society provides students with a relaxing experience and can gather with others at university. Crafting society welcomes all! This creative society has been active since 2022 and has attained credible awards including Society of the Month November 2023 and Activities Awards 2024: Best Special Interest Society. To explore more, visit their SU page: Crafting Society.
Previous events the Craft Society has organised include Craft & Chill for their last sessions before the Christmas break, where members embroidered, and others created filled friends! Another event they had conducted was Karaoke Night with LGBTQIA+ Society, where members sung and danced to music. An additional event they arranged was Clay Sculpting with the Architecture Society. They regularly collaborate with other societies, so you would not want to miss out on their events.
They currently do not have any upcoming events on the websitre, however the society plan to continue with their weekly socials and collaborations in the new year!
