Salsa is a great way to meet new people and make new friends. Come along and develop your dancing skills and maybe even attend and compete with us at events with other universities. The Salsa society caters for all levels of dancing, from absolute beginners to advanced for the more seasoned dancer. We also hold occasional special events where you can try out other forms of salsa such as Bachata and Kizomba.
The society uses the local Salsa Coventry club for our weekly meetings, which are held at the Polish Community Centre, Springfield Road, CV1 4GR on a Thursday Evening from 8pm until 11:30pm. Classes include 2 lessons and a social dance period, and cost £5 for non-members and £3* for CU society members. First taster session is FREE (but you MUST book in advance).
The £5 membership fee lasts the whole academic year, and entitles you to a membership card which will give you discount at our weekly classes and CU Salsa Society hosted special events. Society membership will normally also give you access to buy discounted tickets from us for events hosted by other universities! Membership also entitles you to audition for our competing team, order society clothing, and allow you to join us at attending the annual salsa congress (Somewhere sunny!).
The society attends and competes at the annual Birmingham Salsa Ball against other universities the international Salsa Congress and holds hosted CU events throughout the year.

- Share the passion of the dance with others through social and class demonstration
- Meet new friends with the same interests
- Socialise with CU students as well as with other graduates from University
- Classes with professional teachers every Thursday in Coventry university
- Perform for University purposes
- Take part of different nights happening in other universities such as Warwick Latin nights
- Take part and travel to different events happening in areas that surrounds Coventry

Taster Sessions
Your First taster session is FREE, but you MUST book in advance!

Without a valid taster ticket you may be charged full price for a salsa session by the salsa club our society uses.
*Associate members (Alumni and Guests) who are not current students at the university may obtain membership at a price of £25 entitling them to join us on mini-buses for trips and insuring them during society events. Unfortunately, because these members are not current Coventry students they are not included in the discount deal with our weekly Salsa club, so will still need to pay £5 entry every week.
