Welcome to the Ice Skating Society's page!
"Everyone on the ice, no matter their skill level or discipline, is a member of our skating family!"
Coventry University's Ice Skating Society is a well established recreational sports society. We encourage skaters of all skill levels and disciplines to join us! We want to spread the joy of Ice Skating to everyone who's willing to step onto the ice. The ice feels like a second home to us, our sessions are casual and full of fun! Our comittee also aims to make our sessions educational to new skaters so everyone has a chance to learn something new every week!
Weekly Skating Sessions Timetable:
Monday's sessions: 8:30pm-10:30pm
Wednesday's sessions: 1pm - 4pm
Ice Rink Address: (Planet Ice Coventry: Croft Rd, Coventry CV1 3AZ)
How to become an official Ice Skating Society member:
To officially join the society you will need to purchase the Planet Ice card from their website (£19.99 per year)
Additionally, you will need to purchase the Ice Skating Society membership from the CUSU website (£10 per year)
After you have purchased both of these memberships each session you come to with the society will be £7 which is a significant discount compared to if you were to skate without the memberships!
Our society holds ice skating sessions at Planet Ice Coventry for skaters of all abilities and disciplines as well as social events. The committee members are always happy to give small lessons to skaters should you want to learn/improve your ice skating skills!
We provide opportunities such as individual or group lessons, coaching, volunteering roles, trips, social events and weekly skating sessions.
Come alone or with a group of friends – either way you’ll find a network of people from all different academic courses and backgrounds that you will soon become amazing friends with! No matter whether you’re an absolute beginner (and we have to hold you up!), or more advanced and skate circles around the rest of us, the Ice Skating Club is open to all. Ice Skating is a fun and interactive sport as well as also being a great way to keep fit!
