Risk Assessment
Men's basketball offers a variety of different ways to enjoy the sport.
The 1st team is for people looking to push themselves to the limit and compete at a very high level. Several weekly training sessions and official games are scheduled for members of the 1st team. They also get benefits such as Strength and Conditioning sessions, nutrition and psychology workshops, physiotherapy and more.
The 2nd team is also made up from players wanting to pursue competition at a high level. As with the 1st team, players are provided with several weekly training sessions and official games.
We also have recreational sessions for people who are looking a bit of exercise and fun.
"Coventry Flames" is the local National Basketball League team, which is closely connected to the university programme. This is a great way for players looking to participate in games at a NBL level and gain more experience and recognition.

We can help fuel your passion for the sport by providing a positive and competitive atmosphere, but also allow you to further develop your pre-existing skills.
You will be able to meet new people from different parts of the world and establish relationships that last throughout your entire university stay.

- 1st Team winners of the midlands cup
- 1st Team won the Division 2 Title
- 1st Team runner up in the West Midlands Cup, losing only one game in the league

We have consistently been competitive in the leagues we've been a part of and are always looking to get promoted to higher leagues.
Men's Basketball is part of the annual Varsity competition, one of the university's biggest sporting events.
Men's Basketball is one of the programmes that is annually represented on the University's scholarships list.
As recently as last year (2019/2020), Men's Basketball had three players receiving scholarships : Recent graduate Jad Namer and first year players Stpehen Akpan and Samuel Sowande
