A statement from Your Officers

Your Students Union and our officer team is aware of the recent events in India and Pakistan.

We are saddened and concerned by the reports of unrest and we recognise that the current situation is affecting those within our student community, be that directly or indirectly.

During these uncertain times we wish to remind students the importance of understanding. Students for all sides of the community may be feeling and experiencing the current situation in different ways but we ask that compassion and acceptance is of a high priority.

All Students are entitled to hold their own opinions and express these in a safe and respectable manner on and off campus.

Your SU and your officer team is committed to the welfare and safety of all our students, and we are continually dedicated to making our campus a safe and inclusive space for everyone.

We also ask everyone in our student community to show empathy, kindness, and respect to one another. Conflict abroad can be distressing, but let us uphold our shared values of peace, unity, and mutual respect here at Coventry.

If any student has a concern about their wellbeing or they are impacted emotionally we recommend contacting the student wellbeing service and Spectrum life services.

You can find details of their services and how to contact them below if you are a:

Coventry University and CU Coventry Student
Coventry University London Student
CU Scarborough Student
CU London (Dagenham) or  CU London (Greenwich) Student

If you are struggling with your finances as a result of the unrest, or if it’s having an impact on your academic studies, please contact Your Advice Service for guidance and support.
