Student development is important to us here at Your Students’ Union; we have a long history of linking all the great ways you can contribute to the Students’ Union, to the skills you need for the future.
These are just some of the ways we’ve previously supported students to learn new skills:
- Add+vantage Delivery
- Leadership Awards
- Volunteering
- Full-time and Part-time Officer Training
- Digital Badge programme
- Officials training
- Placements
- British sign Language
That’s why Your Students’ Union and Phoenix+ are delighted to announce a partnership to link Students’ Union activities to the delivery of Phoenix+ sessions! This collaboration between Your Students’ Union and the Phoenix+ team will create a well-rounded experience that combines both skill development and enjoyment.
But what is Phoenix+ and why should you get involved?
Phoenix+ sessions give you access to a range of learning opportunities and career development activities. It works across three stages:
- Know It: bite size content that focus on developing your skills and knowledge in a range of areas in a series of sessions.
- Experience It: immersive opportunities where you will apply your knowledge and build your skills further.
- Live It: your opportunity to bring all this together and get ready for the next steps after graduation.
In simple, learn about the topic, do it, then understand it in order to move forward past graduation!
Phoenix+ is a great opportunity for you connect with other students, to learn, experience new things and develop essential knowledge and skills to help you succeed in life and work. Whatever destination you choose, it’s about preparing you for life after university.
By linking SU activities with the Phoenix+ offering, students will gain valuable skills such as leadership, communication, teamwork, and project management. These skills are not only useful for academic success but are also highly sought after by employers.
Here are just some of the Phoenix+ sessions the SU will be delivering…
- Communicating online
- Disability Awareness
- Intro to Volunteering
- Deaf Awareness
- Managing your finances
- Online Safety
- Intro to School Placement
- Public Service Signing
- British Sign Language
This collaboration allows students to engage in activities that you are passionate about whilst also developing transferable skills; a combination that supports both personal and professional growth.
We have jointly created skill-building opportunities that will help students build a strong CV and stand out from the crowd. The practical experience gained through the SU initiatives, coupled with the development opportunities from Phoenix+ will make students who take part more competitive in the job market.
And who likes to meet new and interesting people? This partnership opens doors for students to interact with a diverse group of students, university staff, and potential industry contacts, enhancing your network for the future.
